Linda Rae Palm Obituary

Stamford - STAMFORD - Linda Rae Decker Palm spent a lifetime caring for and educating others with compassion and good cheer. She died Feb. 20, at 79, from complications of multiple myeloma.

Born in Stamford on Nov. 16, 1944, to Chauncey and Winifred Decker, Linda was a reading teacher at multiple New York schools.

She and Daniel, her husband of 56 years, returned to Stamford upon retiring in 2001.

Linda served as board president of Locust Hill Cemetery, Hobart. She also was involved with Inner Wheel and the Sacred Heart Parish Women's Guild. She was a longtime CORE Values Thrift Shop volunteer in Stamford and enjoyed singing, reading as part of a book club and playing mahjong.

In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by two sons, Matthew and Jacob; and siblings, Carol Levy and Dean and Edward Decker.

Sisters, Donna and Brenda, predeceased her.

Calling hours will be 3 to 6 p.m., Feb. 25, at MacArthur Funeral Home in Stamford. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Feb. 26, at Sacred Heart Church, Stamford.
