BUTTERNUTS - Lorraine R. Mikol, 86, of Butternuts passed away at her home Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024.

Lorraine was born on Dec. 29, 1937, in Brooklyn, the daughter of the late Robert and Lillian (Christoffersen) Russell. On Aug. 2, 1959, Lorraine married the love of her life, Allan Mikol.

Lorraine was a talented artist, with her artwork displayed at shops and banks in the community. She enjoyed reading and had a love for learning. Keeping her bird feeders full was always a challenge, the birds ate as quickly as the feeders were filled. She spent time identifying the varieties of birds, accumulating more bird books than most. Lorraine was a devoted mother and wife, who loved family gatherings. She also enjoyed going for long walks with her husband on their property. She was a past member of the Gilbertsville Presbyterian Church.

Lorraine is survived by her loving husband, Allan; daughter, Christine (Jeffrey) Henry of Greene; grandchildren, Eric (Rachael) Henry of Forrest Grove, Oregon, Alexander (Maggie) Henry of Greene and Jennifer (Dominic) DiTomaso of Poughkeepsie; great-grandchildren, Emmerson, Cade, Danny, Malerie, Luca and Leonardo; daughter-in-law, Antionette Mikol, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, David Mikol.

Family and friends are invited to visitation hours from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the Gilbertsville Presbyterian Church, 113 Marion Ave, Gilbertsville with her funeral to follow. Family and friends are invited to enjoy refreshments after the service.
