DELHI - Lucile Lee Frisbee, born in Delhi, on Jan. 11, 1930, died unexpectedly on Sept. 23, 2022.

She was the daughter of Marjorie and Edgar Lee, who ran Lee's Pharmacy in Delhi for many years.

She graduated from Delaware Academy as valedictorian of the Class of 1948 and attended Middlebury College in Vermont, graduating with a liberal arts degree in 1952.

Lucile moved to Manhattan and attended Katherine Gibbs School for a year before going to work for CBS Television Sales.

She married Willard Frisbee on Sept. 11, 1955. They lived in New Hampshire, New York, and North Carolina before settling in Delhi, where they raised their three sons, Ronald, Steven, and James.

Lucile worked for 10 years in the tutoring program at SUNY Delhi. She was also very active in her community. Over the years, she served as president of the Village Improvement Society, the Delhi Beautification Committee, the Delhi Chapter of the American Field Service (hosting Australian David Watt for a year in 1976-77), and the United Ministry Women's Open Circle. She was the organist for the United Methodist Church for many years. Lucile also served on the O'Connor Hospital Board of Directors.

She and Willard enjoyed traveling, wintering in Florida as well as visiting more than 15 countries. She loved music, flowers, and hosting friends and family at her home. She was an active member of the United Ministry church and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Lucile made a lasting impression on everyone she met. She will forever be remembered for her strength of character, her keen intelligence, and her devotion to upholding the highest standards for both herself and the people and things she loved.

Lucile is survived by her husband of 67 years, Willard; sisters, Betsy and Barbara; sons, Ronald (Susan), Steven (Kate) and James (Ulanda); grandchildren, Gideon (Liz), Chelsea (Darwin), Alyse, Hope, and Daniel; and great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Porter.
