Harpersfield, NY - HARPERSFIELD - Magdalene Cienkowski Merritt 92, of Harpersfield, passed away peacefully Feb. 2, 2026. She was welcomed home into the loving arms of her Lord and joyfully reunited with the children she had longed for.

She was predeceased her husbands, Chester Cienkowski and James Merritt; her beloved children, Chester Cienkowski Jr. and Kathleen Armstrong.

She is survived by her grandchildren: Rebecca Traver (Dakota), Katie Card (Robert), Chester Cienkowski III, and Laura Cienkowski (Sam). She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Hailey, Maia, and Felix. Magdalene is additionally survived by her daughter-in-law, Frances, and sons-in-law, Alexander and James.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13 at Whitting Funeral Home, 300 Glen Cove Ave, Glen Head.
