Margaret "Peggy" Rose Falco Obituary

Oneonta, NY - My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. John 15:12

ONEONTA - Margaret Rose "Peggy" Falco passed away peacefully in her sleep Jan. 23, 2026. A beloved friend, mother and grandmother, she performed many kind acts and helped others throughout her long life of 94 years. She will be sorely missed by all.

Born Nov. 5, 1931, on Staten Island, Peggy was the youngest of four children. She married the love of her life, Fred Falco, on Sept. 1, 1952 with whom she had seven children. She worked tirelessly and cheerfully, caring for her children and parents as well as her husband's parents. Peggy always had a smile and a loving presence. As a nurse, she worked with many patients who felt touched by her care. Peggy was always helping someone with something, not thinking of herself. She reflected the true nature of Jesus Christ in her ways and doings, and truly is now with the Lord in heaven.

Peggy was predeceased by her loving husband, Fred and her son, Tony.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Ruffo and sons, Gerry, Eddie, Tom, Fred, and Christopher Falco. She has 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren as well as one great-great-granddaughter! We will remember her fondly always.

There will be a memorial celebration of her life for Peggy at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 21, at Main Street Baptist Church, 333 Main Street, Oneonta, followed by interment in the Maryland Cemetery.

As a memory of her, look to Jesus in prayer, connect yourself to him and follow in the light of the Lord by helping others.

Arrangements are entrusted with Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta; www.lhpfuneralhome.com
