Oneonta, NY - Margaruite Bailey, 96, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025 at Chestnut Park Nursing Home, Oneonta.

She was born May 9, 1929 in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of William and Pauline (Weidmann) Alsina.

She married Theodore Brundage, together having a daughter, Pauline Violet Brundage Bose. Pauline's sons are Randy J. Brundage, Corey T. Brundage and Eric J. (Crystal) Wood. Margaruite then married Richard Bailey,and together had a daughter Rosella L Bailey. Rosella's daughter is Stephanie (Vance) Houston. Also surviving our many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Theodore and husband, Richard.

Margaruite held several jobs while living in New York City. She worked for Bresee's Department Store in Oneonta for many years in the housekeeping department.

She was well known for her love of animals, taking care of strays and supporting animal charities. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing her knowledge and produce with others. She was a talented seamstress and crafter. She took great pride in helping to decorate Main Street in Oneonta at Christmas with her hand made decorations. She was compassionate when helping others. She loved fishing and being on a lake.

She was a member of the Oneonta Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed witnessing about the love of Jesus and sharing religious literature.

A celebration of life service will be held 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 634 State Highway 205, Oneonta.

The burial at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery will be private.
