East Branch, New York - EAST BRANCH - Marian Jeanette (Davis) Shellman of East Branch, passed away peacefully on Sat. July 25, 2026, after a short illness. Marian was born Dec. 16, 1932, in Delhi to Harold V. and Dorothy (Gray) Davis.

She was predeceased by her husband Albert; son-in-law, Lawrence Bellinger; sister, Joyce (Steve) Hanson, of Indiana; brother, Richard Davis, of California; and great grandson, Conner Barrett, of Wisconsin.

Marian was raised and continued to live in her childhood home for most of her adult life in Andes. She and her husband Albert moved to a smaller, more manageable home on the Susquehanna River in Unadilla. Marian spent her final years in East Branch at LaValleys Loving Care Home where she made many new friends, both human and feline.

Marian was a sweet, quiet lady, who was always able to break the ice with a perfectly timed zinger. She's described by her family and friends as "being full of piss and vinegar," armed with a quick, quiet wit that kept everyone on their toes. She enjoyed reading, word puzzles, cats and mystery TV series. She loved spending time with family and getting cards and pictures in the mail from her great grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Judy Bellinger, of Watervliet; grandson, Dean Barrett, of Fon Du Lac, Wisconsin; granddaughter, Carrie (Barrett) Van Kuren, of Watervliet; great-granddaughters, Cayla Barrett and Kiera Larson, of Steven's Point, Wisconsin, and Bridget Van Kuren, of Watervliet.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9 at Westcott-Madden Funeral Home, 123 Main St., Unadilla. Private burial will be in Sanford Cemetery, New Kingston at the convenience of the family.
