ROXBURY - Martha C. Tucek, a woman of intelligence and refinement, died Sunday, March 19, 2017, in Oneonta.
Martha was born May 25, 1920, at Exeland, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Sofi (Dysyske) Restchack.
She married George Tucek in 1953. He died June 8, 1985.
After living in New City, she moved to Prattsville and lived there for several years.
Martha graduated from Roxbury Central School in 1937 and then attended Drake Business School in New York City.
She was employed at the A&P Store as a department manager in New City, for 25 years.
She was a conservationist, an NRA member and enjoyed traveling, hunting and water skiing.
Martha was predeceased by her brothers, John, Louis and Walter; and sisters, Evangeline, Elizabeth, Theresa and Evelyn.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
At Martha's request, a family graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25, in the Roxbury Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
