Maynard Edwin  Pier
SCHENEVUS - Maynard Edwin Pier, longtime Schenevus resident, passed away on Nov. 6, 2019.
He was born on June 11, 1921, the son of Clarence and Gladys Pier.
Maynard worked for Singer Sewing Machine Corporation in Nyack and resided in his last five years at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford.
Maynard served in World War II from 1942 to 1945 in the United States Army 748th Tank Battalion.
He is survived by his brother, Millard and several nieces and nephews.
A military graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, in Schenevus Cemetery, 67 Main St., Schenevus, with the Rev. Judith A. Thistle officiating.

Maynard was a very special man and is truly missed by many. I am so sorry for your loss. It was an honor to have known him and a pleasure to have been able to spend the last few years of his life with him. Thank you for that and again my condolences to the family.
