Rochester, NY - ROCHESTER - Megan Mullen died of natural causes alone in her Rochester home on the weekend of Feb. 8, 2025. Megan is survived by her brother Micah Mullen and her father James Mullen.
Megan was born at at Fox Hospital May 21, 1964, the daughter of Sally Mullen and James Mullen.
Megan graduated from Oneonta's Bugbee School and then from Oneonta High School. She received a BA cum laude from Bucknell University, an MA in Canadian Literature from Carlton University in Ottawa, Canada, an MA in Library Science from State University of New York at Albany, and Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin (which published her treatise "The Rise of Cable Television Programming in the United States - Revolution or Evolution?"). Megan taught at the University of New Hampshire and for many years at the University of Wisconsin Parkside as co-director of the humanities program. She was also the recipient of the a National Endowment for the Humanities Faculty Fellowship. She came to Rochester as dean at Empire State College.
