MILFORD - Nancy Feola (nee Kiser), of state Highway 166, Milford, lost her gallant 19-month struggle with cancer Monday evening, Oct. 5, 2015, at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown. She was 66. Born April 1, 1949, she was the oldest daughter of six children of Arthur Sr. and Helen (Platt) Kiser. She attended the one-room Westville School from 1954 to 1961 and thereafter attended Milford Central School, from which she graduated with the Class of 1967. She then attended Herkimer County Community College earning an AAS degree in Secretarial Science in 1970. A lifelong Milford/Cooperstown resident, she lived with her husband at their State Highway 166 residence. Nancy was a faithful, dedicated and much-loved employee in the Otsego County Attorney's Office for 30 years before her retirement in May of 2012. It was while working there that she met and fell in love with Joe Feola, a man she referred to as her "sweet and wonderful fellow." They were close and good friends for more than 30 years and constant companions for the last 12. They were married Aug. 8, 2014, at the gazebo at Otsego Manor by the Rev. Douglas Deer, who was at the time, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Cooperstown. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cooperstown. Joe introduced her to the Vintage Sports Car Club of America where she met many new friends. Together, Joe and Nancy worked as "corner workers" at many club hill climbs in New Hampshire and Vermont. Nancy was an avid Oneonta Yankees fan. Her hobbies included creating and tending her flower garden, attending local events, feeding, loving and caring for any and all animals and birds that visited her many feeders, as well as making the best apple pies in the world. Her loving, caring and nurturing nature will be missed by many. Nancy is survived by her husband, Joe Feola of Milford; three kitties, Little One, Tikers and Trouble; father, Arthur Kiser Sr. of Milford; two sisters, Teresa Kiser of Milford and Sue Georgia of Walla Walla, Washington; brothers, Art Kiser Jr. of Milford, Timmy Kiser of Milford and Richard Kiser of Vestal; and a very special nephew, Alex Lubbers of Virginia. She was predeceased by her mother, Helen Kiser. The family will be present to receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 11, at the Tillapaugh Funeral Home, 28 Pioneer St., Cooperstown. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 12, at the First Baptist Church, Elm Street, Cooperstown, with former Pastor Douglas Deer and current lay pastor Dick Sliter officiating. Burial, in the Westville Cemetery, will follow the service.
