Deposit, NY - DEPOSIT - Patricia Ann Clemons, of Deposit, known as "Pat" to most and "Patsy" to some, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025, at the age of 87 while residing at the Veteran's Home in Oxford. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert ("Bob"), of 65 years; as well as her parents, Joseph and Marion Mihalkovic; and grandparents, Earl and Carrie Corey. She is survived by her loving son, Robert, his wife Michelle; and grandchildren, Zachary, Emma, and Andrew.

Pat graduated from the State University Teachers College at Oneonta. While attending college, she met her future husband, Bob, while he was on leave from the United States Marine Corps. They married on July 11, 1959, in Oneonta, and began life as a military family. Pat was a dutiful and supportive Marine wife, who understood the tough demands of military life. She taught school part-time wherever Bob's Marine career took them. After Bob retired from the Marine Corps, they returned home to Deposit and Pat became a full-time teacher at Deposit Central Elementary School. Pat enjoyed teaching and dedicated herself to the education of countless local youth. She often reminisced about her students and loved to see and hear about their future successes. Pat was honored as a New York State Teacher of the Year and was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow through the Deposit Rotary Club. Pat also enjoyed singing in the First United Methodist Church choir, music, traveling to see family and friends, and relaxing at her family cottage in Ontario, Canada. Pat was generous and kind, enjoying and welcoming friends and family to her home and cottage. She was immensely proud of her grandchildren, through whom her and Bob's many adventures and stories will continue to be shared and enjoyed.

Visitation will take place 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at Hennessey's Funeral Home, 78 Second St., Deposit.

Funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2025, at First United Methodist Church, 109 Second St., Deposit.
