JEFFERSON - Patrick Daniel "Dan" Volpe, 59, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on the morning of July 5, 2018.

Dan was born in Kingston to Philip Edward and Margaret Rose in 1958. He grew up on Spillway Road in West Hurley and attended Onteora High School. He was a member of the Kingston Little Indians, as well as the Kingston Indians where he was an avid snare drummer and met the love of his life, Debra.

He joined the United States Army in 1975, where he earned expert rifleman and expert grenade medals.

Dan was an accomplished carpenter and mason. He was proud to have owned his own businesses in Conroe, Texas, and with his sons in Jefferson. He was a diehard N.Y. Giants and Yankees fan, and loved Ford power.

Dan is survived by his wife of 42 years, Debra (Ploss) Volpe, 58; daughters, Marlana, 42, of Jefferson, and Cresandra (Joe), 41, of Stamford; and sons, Joshua (Amy), 39, of Davenport Center, and Patrick II (Tisha), 35, of Jefferson.

He thought the best thing that ever happened to him were his grandchildren, Dylan, 15, Joseph, 12, Patrick III, 8, Ashton, 6, and Aubrey, 5. Dan is also survived by his brother, Philip of Kingston; and sisters, Maryanne of Butler, New Jersey, and Lydia of Kingston; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents.

His in-laws, Jim and Meg Ploss of Kingston and their family are saddened by his passing also. He will be deeply missed by his companion, "Taco."

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 21, at Sacred Heart Church, 27 Harper Street, Stamford, NY, with a reception to follow at the Parish Hall until 1 p.m.

A celebration of life will be held at the Volpe residence, 67 McElroy Lane, Jefferson, NY, immediately following. All family and friends are welcome.
