OTEGO - Pauline "Polly" Bump, in her 96th year of life, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021, at A.O. Fox Care Nursing Home in Oneonta.

Polly was born in 1925, the eldest child of Seeley and Alta (Alger) Stilson, in Otego.

She is survived by her youngest sister, Thelma (Harold) Martindale, Sidney; and was predeceased by her younger sister, Anne (George) Drexler of Unadilla.

Polly was predeceased by her loyal and devoted husband of 53 years, Richard Bump of Otego; sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Fred) Heath of Sidney, Shirley Sullivan of California and Emily (Pete) Smith of Rome, Georgia; and niece, Crystal Martindale of Sidney.

She was a devoted mother and caregiver to her elderly parents and husband.

She was a lifelong resident of Otego, staying at the Hampshire House and A.O. Fox Nursing Home in her later years.

Polly is survived by her three beloved children and their spouses, Ron (Joanne) Bump, Stamford, Connie (David) DeMarrais, Albany, and Cynthia (Jerry) Underwood, Rochester.

She is survived by her treasured grandchildren, Danielle Wickline, Clinton, Stephanie (Randy) Hulbert, Oneonta, Nicole (Kevin) Brinn, Colorado, Stacie (Jeffrey) Halsdorfer, Rochester, Dennis (Jennifer) DeMarrais, New Hampshire, Nathan (Karen) Underwood, Rochester, Thomas (Annalisa) Underwood, Rochester, Jessica (Denis) Cole, New Jersey.

Polly is survived by her cherished 16 great-grandchildren, Tyler and Shelby Burns, Mallory and David Wickline, Aidan Hulbert, Bryce and Quinn Halsdorfer, Brianna, Ava, and Owen Underwood, Grant and Ella DeMarrais, Conor and Noah Underwood, and Sienna and Avery Cole.

She will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, neighbors and friends.

Private graveside services will be held in Evergreen Cemetery in Otego, by the Rev. Fred Albrecht at the convenience of her three children.

Polly requested that expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, be made with memorial donations in her name to Otego Fire/Emergency Department and Ladies Auxiliary, 5 River St., Otego, NY 13825.
