New York - JEFFERSON - Pauline Porter, 85, of Jefferson, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, Jan. 5, 2020, at Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville.

She was born on Dec. 8, 1934, in New York City, the daughter of the late Frank and Ivy (Taylor) Gammon.

Mrs. Porter was married to her beloved husband of 62 years, Norman E. Porter on Oct. 12, 1957.

Pauline was a registered nurse working at Mount Vernon Hospital in Westchester.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed mysteries. Pauline also enjoyed crafting, sewing and needlework.

Pauline was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Stamford.

Besides her husband, Pauline is survived by her children, Norman (Donna) Porter Jr. of Rocky Point, Sharon (Jeff Heller) Barrett of Jefferson and Mark Porter of Highland Mills; grandchildren, Kyra, Cole, Amber, Chyna and Justin; three great-grandchildren, Damian, Lyric and Chelsea; brother, Franklin (Gail) Gammon of North Carolina; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at First Presbyterian Church, Main Street in Stamford.
