STAMFORD - Phyllis Anne Truran, 82, of Stamford, passed away early on Feb. 3, 2024, at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home.
She was born July 3, 1941, in Peekskill, the daughter of Reverend Kenneth and Marie Truran.

Never married, for 30 years she taught history and economics at North Tonawanda High School while living in Buffalo.
Retiring in 1993, she moved to Ocean Grove, New Jersey, for the most treasured time of her life, residing there until moving in 2019 to The Pavilion in Stamford.
The daughter of a Methodist minister she spent her entire life faithful to her religion. In both Buffalo and Ocean Grove, she gave countless hours of devoted service to the church and those in need.
She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Dorothy; and brother, Arthur.
Surviving are her brother, David Truran and wife, Lorraine of Halcottsville; and sister, Ruth Cutler and husband, Ron of Santa Monica, California.
Those wishing to leave a gift in her name may do so to any charity or church of their choosing as, if asked, she would have been unable to choose one over another.
