Sidney, NY - SIDNEY - Born June 24, 1951, Randy Payne was the youngest of three children, born to Donald "Red" Payne, and Marion Doi Payne.

A legendary athlete at Sidney High School, Randy broke records in both wrestling and cross country. Following in his brother's footsteps in high school, where they gained state titles and national recognition, Randy went on to wrestle in at the University of Pittsburgh.

His athletic feats carried on into his adulthood, where he became a tree surgeon and landscaper, sculpting beautiful gardens and yards for many years. Randy would climb the tallest tree to save your cat who had been stuck for days or find a boat and rescue your family from floodwater and expect nothing in return.

Randy was always a team player, cared deeply for his community, valued his family and friends above all else and has been a shining star in all the lives that he has touched. He was humble, honest, quietly comforting, and a role model for so many.

Randy will be survived by the beauty he has created, much of which will live on long after all of us, as well as his friends who gave him endlessly wild stories; and his family, who he loved so much, who stayed with him till the very end and made his life complete.
