Raymond Anthony Nassar Obituary

RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Raymond A. Nassar passed away on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, at home, with his loving family and friends by his side.

Ray was a very kindhearted and loving man. He loved being surrounded by family and friends. His quick wit and humor, as well as his insight and guidance will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Ray was born at home, in Richfield Springs, son of the late Frank and Nora Haddad Nassar. He was raised in Richfield Springs and graduated from Richfield Springs Central School.

Following graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force.

Ray married the love of his life, Constance "Connie" Domion, on Sept. 18, 1976. They had a blessed union of almost 45 years.

After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force, Ray was employed by the Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company as an accountant where he remained for the next 45 years. He enjoyed his job and made several lifelong friends along the way.

Ray was member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Richfield Springs, having served as a trustee.

He was active in the Richfield Springs Sportsmen's Club and a dedicated member of the American Legion Post 616 for 50 years.

Mr. Nassar is survived by his beloved wife, Connie; brothers, Louis Nassar and his wife, Joy of California and Albert Nassar of Norwich; sisters-in-law, Joan Lahr Nassar of Nashville, Tennessee, Jean Domion and Kristin Domion, both of Richfield Springs; as well as, numerous nieces and nephews. Ray is also survived by a special "daughter," Melanie (Don) Bruce of Richfield Springs.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph and Mitchell Nimey; sister, Frieda Buddour; father-in- law, Philip Domion, mother-in-law, Janice Domion; brothers-in law, Philip Domion Jr., Monte Domion and James Domion; sister-in-law, Barbara Huycks and stepson, Mark Crandall.

Calling hours will be at J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 W. James St., Richfield Springs, from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

A Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph the Worker RC Church, Richfield Springs, will be followed by interment, with military honors, in St. Joseph Cemetery, Richfield Springs.
