Reuben O. Abbott Jr. Reuben Abbott, 73, passed away Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, at the Countryside Care Center in Delhi. Reuben Abbott was born Aug. 7, 1938, in Townshed, Vt., the youngest son of Reuben Sr. and Alice (Goodell) Abbott. He was employed as a mechanic for the Otsego County Highway Department until his retirement. Survivors include his sister, Annabell Shine of Townshed, Vt.; sisters-in-law Irmgard (Tines) Buess of Schoharie; and Ilse (Tines) Merryman-McCoy of Hampton, Va.; numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife, Katharina (Tines); his elder sisters, Eleanor Anderson of Oregon, Loraine Burkert of West Winfield and Elsie Wright of Vermont. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, in the Roseboom Cemetery with Rev. Lyman Johnson officiating. Burial will follow.
