STAMFORD - Bob passed away peacefully on April 12, 2022, at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home.

Bob, 83, was born on Oct. 31, 1938, in the town of Middletown. He was the son of Woodrow Purchell and Jean Maticic Purchell.

Bob graduated from Roxbury Central School in 1957.

He served in the Marine Corps from Jan. 7, 1958 to Nov. 8, 1960. He served in the Marine Corps Reserves until Jan. 6, 1964.

He spent most of his life in the surrounding Roxbury, Grand Gorge, and Stamford areas.

He was a carpenter by nature and loved his dogs.

He is survived by his daughters, Leah (Brian) Burgess and Helene (Dean) Hunter; granddaughters, Hailee, Brianna and Ashley; sisters, Virginia (Michael) Rockwood, Rose (Thomas) Squires and Marcy Plamondon; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by granddaughter, Emma.

Donations in Bob's memory may be made to the Heart of the Catskill's Humane Society or Stamford Veterans Outreach Center.

Funeral services will be private. A graveside service has yet to be determined.
