ONEONTA - Robert E. Dresser, 90, of Oneonta, passed away at home on Dec. 17, 2024.
He was predeceased by his wife, Beverly and parents, Lee and Thelma Dresser.
Bob is survived by his sister, Marian Simpson-Rorick and brother, David (Mary) Dresser; sons, James (Karla Kuzawinski) Dresser and Steven Dresser (Shari McDonough); grandchildren, Jessica (Garrett) Ellis and Michael Dresser; great-grandson Lee Dresser; and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Our family is forever grateful to Sue for the excellent care she provided Bob over the years.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 25 at Oneonta Plains Cemetery, Section 10 near Gate G off of Oneida Street, with the Rev. Casey Bradley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
A private Celebration of Life will be held following the service.
Bob was born on Jan. 10, 1934 in Massena. His family made Oneonta their home in 1938, after living in many different states and Canada. He graduated from Oneonta High School in 1951 and was inducted into the Army in 1953. He married Beverly Thomas in 1955 and honorably served in the Army reserves until 1961. He worked in banking for two years before entering the insurance business which became his career of 37 years. Bob and Beverly enjoyed travelling in Europe, the Caribbean and Mexico. After Beverly passed, Bob became a snowbird and retired to Palm Beach Shores, Florida. He returned to Oneonta in 2017 to be closer to family and friends.
