Morris, NY - MORRIS - Robert W. Jones, 88, of Morris, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford.

Born on Feb. 10, 1937, in Albany, Robert was the son of the late Harold and Mabel (Hedman) Jones. He was a dedicated worker at TACO in Sherburne and the town of Morris. Known for his dependable nature and generous heart, Robert was willing to lend a hand to friends and neighbors.

Robert was a proud member of the Tired Iron of Butternut Valley who enjoyed restoring vintage tractors and was a passionate NASCAR fan, with Dale Earnhardt Sr. as his all-time favorite driver. He was skilled handyman who remodeled a school bus into a camper so that his family could enjoy weekend trips to the lake boating.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lois Jones; children, Julie Lawton, Joyce (Michael) Chase, and Jennifer Jones; grandchildren, Heather Lawton, Hilary (Danny) Causey, Justin (Megan) Chase and Andrew Chase; and great-grandchildren, Hailey Smith, Eli Crane, Hudson Thompson, Averi Thompson, and Renly Chase.

He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Fred (Diana) Wagner, sisters-in-laws, Martha Benjamin, Helen Hoag, Sophie (Ed Hooke) Liberatore, and Sandra Jones along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Robert was predeceased by his brothers. Richard, Donald and Harold Jones.

He will be remembered for his warm smile, his willingness to help others, and the love he shared with his family and community. He was truly a friend to all.

Per Robert's wishes, his family will bury him privately at Hillington Cemetery in Morris with military honors.
