FORT MYERS, Fla. - Roger I. Porter passed away on April 24, 2021, at age 81.
He was born on July 29, 1939, in Portlandville, to Stanley and Florence Porter.
He was a graduate of New Berlin Central School.
He, along with his father, brother and son, owned Pittsfield Tire Center in Pittsfield for more than 50 years.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Reginald; and sister, Sharon.
Married to Mary Jane Ludington for 59 years, Roger is survived by his wife, Mary Jane and their four children, Jolene Porter (Laraine) of Fort Myers, Florida; Janette Holtham (Jeff); Scott Porter (Laura); Jaclyn Lund (Randy), Edmeston; eight granddaughters, Courtney O'Connor, Chelsea Fassett, Madison Paradis, Mackenzie and Miranda Porter, Logan, Haylie and Taryn Lund; great-grandchildren, Gertie Jane and Porter Fassett and Kellen O'Connor; several nieces and nephews; and many friends from Pine Ridge in Fort Myers and the Edmeston area.
He was a former Edmeston firefighter, Rotarian and Edmeston Town Board member and supervisor.
His life will be celebrated from 3 to 5 p.m., June 18, at Pathfinder Village pavilion. Friends are welcome to greet the family.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Taylor Hill Cemetery Edmeston.
