Roma M. Buel Obituary

GILBOA - Roma M. (Lafferty) Buel, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany, following her second battle with cancer.

Roma was born on April 16, 1940, in the town of Gilboa.

She married Leslie A. Buel on Oct. 24, 1959.

Roma leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Leslie A. Buel; four children, Dennis L. (Bonnie) Buel, Duane Bull, Amy Brown, Tammy (Hank) Buel; sister, Mary Christopher; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind countless relatives and friends, as they were all so dear to her heart.

Roma married at the age of 19 and became a dedicated farm wife. During her years, she also worked as town supervisor, ARC counselor and was a tour guide for the NYS Power Authority for 20 years. Her greatest joy was making others happy, especially those fortunate enough to be close to her.

Family and friends may join in celebrating Roma's life at the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury, at calling hours from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 5, and from 1 p.m. until service time, Thursday July 6, with the Rev. Dottie Morris officiating.

Following the service, all are invited to the family residence in Conesville for a gathering.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
