STAMFORD - Rosamond Collins, 95, of Stamford, passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, at her home.

Born in Oneonta, on Dec. 27, 1927, she was the daughter of Elizabeth (Newport) and Dewey Clark Sr.

Rose married the love of her life Clinton C. "Splint" Collins on Aug. 10, 1948. The couple was blessed with two boys, Clinton (Terry) and Scott. All three predeceased her.

Following graduation from Oneonta High School, Rose started working for the New York Telephone Company, from where she retired.

Following her retirement Rose and Splint loved to travel to California to see family and down south to get out of the cold winters of Stamford.

She also cross stitched projects and crocheted many blankets that she lovingly made for her family.

Rose was also a member and Past Matron of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kandy Maclaury Collins; granddaughter, Becky (Paul) Garrison; grandsons, Garrett (Matthew) Collins and Patrick Collins; great-granddaughter, Honnah (Tanner Cole) Garrison; nephews, Peter (Mary) Clark and Bruce (Judy) Clark; as well as great-niece, Molly Clark; great-nephew, Seth Clark; and a dear cousin, Linda Rae Nichols.

There wasn't a day that went by that she didn't speak to her dear friend, Eve Bligh Gilmore, to hash out Stamford's problems.

At Rose's request there will be no calling hours or services. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
