STAMFORD - Ruth E. "Betty" Krull, 93, of Stamford, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, at her home.

Born on June 23, 1926, in Westtown, she was the daughter of the late Harry S. and Nellie V. Elmer.

Betty graduated from Middletown High School in Middletown in June of 1944.

She was the wife of Merritt H. "Buzz" Krull, who she married in Westtown, on July 20, 1947. Buzz was employed by Agway for many years. They lived in several different areas of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, finally having settled in Stamford. Her beloved Buzz died on Sept. 29, 1980.

Betty put her years of business and management skills to work at the former Scotch Valley Ski Center, which she managed for approximately 18 years, until her retirement.

She was a member of the Westtown Presbyterian Church and attended Stamford Presbyterian Church.

An avid gardener, Betty was well-known for her beautiful flowers, even her mailbox overflowed with flowers. She was also an animal lover and always had either a dog or cat in residence with her.

Besides her husband and parents, Betty was predeceased by her brother, Maurice Plumley.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, James, Carol, Stewart, Lisa and Becket Plumley; and special friend, Stanley Williamson.

At Betty's request there will be no calling hours or formal funeral services.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
