FRANKLIN - Sally Nichols, 66, of Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta.

Sally was born on Feb. 16, 1956, in Sidney, a daughter of the late Phillip Y. and Marie A. (Daniels) Nichols.

Sally was last employed by Custom Electronics, Inc. in Oneonta.

There was nothing fake about Sally. She would tell you like she saw it, but in a gentle and caring way. Sally enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, crafting, amateur photography and will forever be remembered for being a true "salt of the earth" type of person.

Memorial services for Sally will be held privately and at the convenience of her family.

Sally is survived by her companion of more than 30 years, Walter F. Currie Jr.; children, Vicki (Frank) Mannarino, Timothy Zindle, Michael Zindle, and Amanda (Yasu) Tamashima; grandchildren, Kristina and Tyler Mannarino, Myka and Lucas Tamashima and Jonas Zindle; brothers, Rusty (Tina) Nichols and Dale (Jamie) Nichols; sister, Gail Ashley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sally's family has entrusted her care to the Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home in Morris.
