OTEGO - Sandra Lynn Bennett, 79, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023, at her home.

She was born the daughter of the late Noel and Margaret (Curtin) Menzl on Nov. 29, 1944, in Washington, D.C.

Sandra was a graduate of Islip High School, SUNY Oneonta, and the Utica School of Commerce.

She worked at area restaurants and the ARC. Sandra was a proud member of the West Oneonta Baptist Church and the Laurens-Freedom Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star where she held many district and state offices.

Sandra is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 50 years, Robert; brother, Craig (Jody) of Longwood, Florida; grandchildren, Sara and Ryan Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Claire, Jayden and Isaac.

At Sandra's request, there will be no calling hours or service.

Sandra's family has entrusted her care to the Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home in Morris.

Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284, in memory of her daughter, Kristin Johnson.
