Oneonta, NY - ONEONTA - Shannon Paige Sarah Paisha Munson, passed away unexpectedly July 1, 2025 from a brain aneurysm. She was surrounded by her family and friends.

Shannon was born June 27, 1978, to Rick and Faye Munson. She was the best anniversary present to her (maternal) grandparents.

Shannon will be remembered for her fiery red hair, empathetic heart, and sassy sense of humor, as well as her infectious laugh, admiration for animals, and selfless acts of love and guardianship to everyone.

Shannon is predeceased by her grandparents, Dick and Laura Munson, Donald and Libby Akulin and her beloved KK.

She is survived by her parents; children, Ni'esa, Galisia, and MarQies; stepchildren, Jayden, Niama, and Derrick; sister, Michele; and countless other family members and friends.

As many were aware, Shannon had a tendency to be late to many occasions. On this occasion of life, she left early to watch over all of us.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 9 in Glenwood Cemetery, 525-529 Main Street, Oneonta, followed by a celebration of life at the Elks Club, 84 Chestnut St., Oneonta.

The family will be sitting Shiva at 6139 State Highway 7, Oneonta on Thursday, July 10, Sunday, July 13 and Monday, July 14; times are still to be determined.
