Shawn Lyn  Wade
OTEGO - Shawn Lyn Wade, 52, of Otego passed away in the loving arms of her mother, surrounded by family on Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, following a long illness.
She was born July 19, 1967, in Schenectady, the daughter of Evelyn J. Wade and the late Edward Wade.
Shawn loved spending time with her family, always lending a helping hand to make every occasion more special and enjoyable. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.
Shawn was predeceased by her father, Edward Wade; grandparents, Shirely and Hilda Cook; uncle, Ronald Cook; and niece, Erica Stevens.
Shawn is survived by her mother, Evelyn J. Wade; her six siblings, Douglas Wade, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Daniel (Heather) Wade, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Raymond (Heather) Smith, Sidney, Jeffrey (Denise) Smith, Otego, Deborah (Eric) Stevens, Schenevus, and Michael Smith, Oneonta; her uncle and aunts, Melvin and Edee Cook, Oneonta, Elsie Terpenning, Oneonta, and Patti Cook, Port Charlotte, Florida; her cousins, Cindy (Terry) Peck, Cheryl (Joseph) Rotolo, Monica Terpenning, Michelle Thomas, Ronald (Alyssa) Cook, and David Cook; her nieces and nephews, Kristina Wade, Aidan Wade, Kasey Wade, Heather Smith, Meagan Smith, Courtney Smith, Sara (Brett) Bolton, Kyle Stevens, Kristin Smith, and Kevin Smith; her six great-nieces and great-nephew; and her close friend, Kelly Rogers.
It was Shawn's request that there be no calling hours or funeral service. Family and friends will gather at a later date for a celebration of her life.
The family thanks her at-home caregivers, the ICU Staff at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, and the FoxCare Cancer Center in Oneonta, for their loving care of Shawn.
