Stephen R. Bellows Obituary

Morris, NY - MORRIS - Stephen R. Bellows, 69, of Morris, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 25, 2026. He was born on Dec. 27, 1956, in Oneonta, the son of the late Clayton and Mary Ellen Bellows.

Stephen was a gifted mechanic and lifelong problem solver who took great pride in working with his hands. As the owner and operator of L&S Small Engine Repair, he built a reputation throughout the community for his knowledge, honesty, and ability to repair just about anything brought through his shop doors. Whether it was a lawn mower, tractor, snowblower, or another piece of equipment, Stephen enjoyed the challenge of diagnosing the problem and getting it running again. He found satisfaction in fixing things that others thought couldn't be repaired, and his customers appreciated both his skill and his willingness to help.

Outside of work, Stephen's curiosity and craftsmanship continued. He loved building, repairing, and creating, always finding another project to keep his hands busy. He had a lifelong fascination with model trains and took great pride in his collection, enjoying both the craftsmanship and history behind them. His workshop was a place where countless hours were spent tinkering, inventing, and bringing new life to old things.

Stephen was well known throughout the Morris area for his outgoing personality and friendly nature. He enjoyed talking with people, sharing stories, and never hesitated to strike up a conversation with friends, neighbors, or customers. His warm smile, easygoing manner, and willingness to lend a helping hand earned him the respect and friendship of many. To those who knew him best, Stephen was dependable, hardworking, and always willing to share his time and talents with others.

Above all, Stephen treasured the time he spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, a caring stepfather, and a proud grandfather who valued every opportunity to be surrounded by those he loved. The memories he created with family and friends will be cherished for years to come.

Stephen is survived by his beloved wife, Lee; stepson, Daniel (Jamie) Truax; step-niece, Randy Perkins; nieces, Brittany (Erik) White and their children, Cora and Delfina, and Tiffany (Kevin) Ferguson and their children, Abigail, Broderick, and McKayla; sister, Cindy (Joe) Miller; special cousin, Joseph Tabor; and step-grandchildren, Larissa Clark and Alice Truax. Stephen was predeceased by his parents, Clayton and Mary Ellen Bellows.
