Laurens - LAURENS - Sylvia Ann Rozelle, 81, of Laurens, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023, at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.

Sylvia was born on Jan. 16, 1942, to the late Walter and Mildred (Hovey) Savory in Norwich.

Sylvia was employed at Bendix Corporation in Sidney for more than 40 years.

After retiring, she loved her quiet life keeping track of her family and friends. Her favorite pastime was reading.

Sylvia is survived by her companion of many years, Ben Bookhout; children, Tim Rozelle, Jeff (Deanna) Rozelle, and Vicki (Tom) Randesi; her companion's children, Shawn Bookhout (Jill) and Thomas (Kim) Bookhout; sister, Carolyn (Robert) Mertz; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her four brothers, three sisters, and her companion's daughter, Tammy Bookhout.

A graveside service will be held at noon, Tuesday, May 9, in Elm Row Cemetery, County Highway 11, Laurens with the Rev. Dr. Miriam Hathaway, officiating.

Sylvia's family has entrusted her care to the Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home in Morris.
