Tessa D. Oakley Obituary

HARPERSFIELD - Tessa D. Oakley, 78, of Harpersfield, passed away suddenly early Thursday morning, Oct. 27, 2022, at her home.

Born on Oct. 24, 1944, in Tunbridge Wells, England, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Lily (Fashion) Carey.

Tessa was a home health aide and worked for various families over the years.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, and traveling, but Tessa's greatest joy was her family, she loved to help and take care of children, opening her home and her heart to most every child she met and being loving and caring mother.

Besides her parents, Tessa was predeceased by her sons, Ian and Christopher Oakley; brother, Christopher Carey; and son-in-law, William O'Connor.

Tessa is survived by her husband, Dennis Oakley of Harpersfield; five children, Deanna O'Connor of Walton, Heather Oakley of Ohio, Anthony, Clive, and Nigel Oakley all of Harpersfield; and two grandchildren, Alexis and Caragh O'Connor, both of Walton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Sacred Heart Church, 27 Harper St., Stamford with the Rev. Paul Mijas, celebrant. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery in South Kortright.
