Rockdale, NY - ROCKDALE - Timothy Alan Smith (Tim), 61 of Rockdale and Oneonta passed away after a sudden illness June 24, 2026. He was born May 6, 1965, in Norwich.

Tim was a graduate of Gilbertsville Central School in 1984. He was a talented tennis and track athlete and was also a gifted artist. He had a love of antiques and a keen eye for design.

He was a long-term commercial flooring sales representative who worked at Endwell Rug and most recently Carpets Plus in Oneonta. Tim had a quick wit and was always the life of the party with his extraordinary sense of humor.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his father, Alan B. and Barbara Smith (Sebastian, Florida); mother, Carol and Ralph Bennett (Mount Upton); brother, Martin (Marty) Smith and partner Katie Clarke (Gilbertsville); sister, Susan Simmons (Aiken, South Carolina); sister, Alana and Brian Johnk (Novato, California); sister, Jennifer and Peter Ryan (Key West, Florida); sister, Jessica MaCumber (Gilbertsville); and brother, Terry Junior (TJ) and Lisa MaCumber (Gilbertsville); as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Tim's life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 12, at Centennial Park, Gilbertsville. All family and friends are welcome as we share funny stories and special memories of Tim, with a toast at 2 p.m. in his memory.
