BAINBRIDGE - Virginia F. Ireland, 82, of Bainbridge, died Sunday, March 3, 2024, at her home.
She was born on Oct. 16, 1941, to the late, Robert Frewert and Madeline Pierce.
She was raised by her grandparents, Gustav and Freda Frewert.
She was predeceased by her two husbands, James Ireland and Douglas Ireland.
She is survived by six children, Valerie McCain, Ronald Ireland, Nadine Fineout, Karen (Andrew) Kantor, Cheryl (Stratton) Liberty, and Dorene Ireland; seven grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Mapstone and Edward Mapstone; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was the Operation Merry Christmas coordinator for many, many years and a former volunteer with many local organizations.
The family will receive friends at Westcott-Madden Funeral Home, 123 Main St., Unadilla, from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday.
Private burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla.
