ANDES - Wallace Meyer Jr., 81, of Andes, passed away on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, at Albany Medical Center.

He was born on May 5, 1941, in Jamaica, the son of Louise and Wallace Meyer Sr.

Wally proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1959 until 1963.

Wally was employed as a bus driver for Green Bus Lines, Inc. in Queens, from 1969 until his retirement in 2002.

Wally was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Richard.

Wally is survived by his loving wife, Joann Meyer of Andes; beloved daughters, Jennifer (Stanley) Andersen of Andes and Wendy Petrie of Mooresville, North Carolina; cherished grandchildren, Stanley Jr., Ben and Emily Andersen and Gavin Petrie.

Friends are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville. Burial will take place at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28, in Andes Cemetery, Andes.

In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made to the Andes Fire Department, 5259 County Road 1, Andes, NY 13731.
