Oneonta, New York - ONEONTA - Wendy L. Platt (aka Breezy) went to spend eternity with her one true love, Warren, on Aug. 3, 2026, where time holds no meaning. She loved Precious, her cat, foot long hot dogs, BINGO at Turning Stone, but most of all, spending time talking to her grandkids.

She was born Aug. 14, 1954, in Oneonta, the daughter of the late Gerald Arthur and Betty Jean (Pearson) Baker. A lifelong Oneonta resident, Wendy graduated from Oneonta High School, Class of 1973.

On July 24, 1976, Wendy married Warren D. Platt. He predeceased her on July 25, 1990.

For 23 years, Wendy was a Group 1 Operator at Corning until her retirement in 2016.

Wendy is survived by her children, Darren and Kristen Platt, Laurens, Robert Platt, Afton, Joann Carr, Schenevus, Yvonne and Marty Wilkens, Maryland and Michele and Corbett Ramos, Rockaway, New Jersey; daughter-in-law, Donna Underhill, Newark, Delaware; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Diana and James Paton, Gary and Donna Baker, Doug Baker, Lynn and Dawn Baker; sisters-in-law, Kathy Baker and Donna Richmond; and brother-in-law, Wayne and Becky Morgan; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, William Platt; grandson, Tyler James Carr; brother, Gerald Baker; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Baker.

A graveside committal service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 13, in Oneonta Plains Cemetery with the Rev. Stephen D. Fournier officiating.
