Port Ewen, NY - PORT EWEN - William "Bill" H. Timer, 74, of Port Ewen, passed away May 12, 2026, at Vassar Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was born in Oneonta, son of the late William and Laura (Shaver) Timer.

Bill was a graduate of Laurens Central School and attended SUNY Delhi. Bill worked as store manager of Ames Department Store in New Paltz and Kingston. Prior to his retirement, he was a financial planner for NY Life. He was married to Janet (Hungerford) Timer on May 2, 1987.

Bill loved his muscle cars as well as home woodworking and renovations. He loved cooking and was a master at the grill with his secret recipes. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and vacationing on Seneca Lake where he entertained family with his annual pyrotechnical spectaculars and comical monologues.

Bill is survived by his wife, Janet Timer, son, Will Timer, of Port Ewen, brother, David Timer of Woodstock, Virginia, sister, Emily (Al) Rowe of Mission Viejo, California, and many in-laws, cousins, and nieces and nephews.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral Service, Kingston. A private memorial will be held at the family's convenience.
